 - The only medical institution participating and taking responsibilities for team's health

‘2016 Hague project appointment ceremony for honorary ambassador and press conference’ was held in Korea Press Center. An organizing committee(chairman Jang, jooho), K-communication(CEO Kim, Yoonhee), and Huerun New Media(CEO, Jarry Kwak) took part in the ceremony and press conference. In addition, mountaineer, Hong-gil Uhm, former major leaguer, Chan-ho Park, former basketball player, Seung-hyun Kim, former rhythmic gymnst, Soo-ji Shin, etc. were appointed as honorary ambassadors for 2016 Hague Project.

 

The Hague project was designed to ruminate the meaning of the 110th anniversary of patriotic martyr Lee jun’s death, and to convey a message of peace and harmony all over the world. 33 cyclists, representing 33 independence fighters who signed declaration of independence during the March 1 Independence Movement, participates in the Hague project. They reminds the history which should never be forgotten, and also perform a role as a private delegation to pray for a successful hosting and to promote Pyeongchang 2018 Olympic Winter Games. As well, honorary ambassadors, Hong-gil Uhm, Chan-ho Park, Seung-hyun Kim, and Soo-ji Shin, will join other cyclists in partial sections.

In particular, Catholic Kwandong University International St. Mary’s Hospital(President Jun-sig Kim) is the only medical institution in charge of medical support of the project. This project starting from 18th September is a 15,000-kilometer cycling from South Korea to Hague, Netherlands. International St. Mary’s Hospital dispatch medical staffs to join team and take care of member’s health. Besides, the hospital not only will provide medical check-up service for cyclists and vaccinate them for prevention of endemic diseases before and after the project but also volunteer medical service with the team during the project.

 

On the ceremony, president Jun-sig Kim said “I am honored to be here. We will bear the responsibility for and take care of team’s health for the successful Hague project.”, and “With all my heart, I hope and pray for success of 2016 Hague Project.”
